Objective: We learnt that the textile fibre is the raw material that makes a textile fabric and that are many different names we can give to different types of fabric, made in different ways. At the same time we, as a group, had to pick one brand and make all of this of the following.
Working analysis – By the end of the session I was able to recognise the difference between different fibres and fabric types and describe the process of range planning, identifying criteria for assortment selection. In addition, I have to create a range of 12-15 styles suitable for their retailer showing my collaborative influence, and understanding of the customer. I think that this its going to be a challenge for me because I’m not very good at the photoshop as I was suppose to be. So getting the clothes and putting their pattern is not that easy for me. However, this is very important for the success of my product. It was interesting to experience and interact with the types of materials that I did not knew. As a result, I did very little in the class for my collaboration as I couldn’t think of ideas quickly. In the end this resulted in catching up at home, by choosing my objective and applying it to my collaboration.
Things I need to improve – I need to take a look of the power points and make a plan before the start of the session so at least I know what each term mean. This could help a lot with time and understand of the class. So next time I will be fully prepared and understand what I have to do in class.
